For most of two decades, 816 Pint & Slice sat at 816 S Calhoun St, in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne. The Thomas family opened it in 2007, which made it one of downtown's early pizza-and-craft-beer spots. You could order a slice or a whole pie, and the kitchen also turned out grinders, calzones, pasta, and wings.

The draft list leaned local and regional, the kind of craft beer board that changes with what nearby breweries are pouring. Its own house pour was the Cutter IPA, brewed by Gnometown Brewing. Upstairs, the building's second floor held an art gallery called 816 Slice of Art, which gave the place a second reason to walk in.

After 18 years, the restaurant closed permanently on December 31, 2025, with its owners citing food costs that had nearly doubled.
